Important Jubilate Communications
Jubilate Musica
Rehearsal locations now in Oberlin and Avon!

Grades 3-4
Jubilate singers in third and fourth grade build on the techniques learned in Dulcis Musica to further develop pitch matching and healthy vocal tone. They begin incorporating harmony into their singing and are
introduced to reading and following a written choral octavo. Their increasing musical and interpersonal awareness allows them to hear one part while singing another, and adjust their own vocal tone to blend with other voices. At this level, singers perform advanced elementary repertoire and participate in two major concerts each year, along with a variety of outreach and community concerts, sing-alongs, and demonstrations throughout the season.

🎶 A Joyful Rehearsal Experience
Each Jubilate rehearsal is filled with beautiful, engaging music of the highest quality—concert repertoire, rounds and canons, and singing games. These pieces provide rich material for music reading through a Kodály-based process that emphasizes ear training before note reading. Singers trained in the Kodály method develop strong intonation and rhythmic skills that serve as the foundation for both singing and instrumental music.
🌟 Expert Instruction for the Whole Child
Jubilate conductors are master music educators who use a variety of strategies and activities to engage the whole child—body, mind, and spirit. The ear is trained alongside the eye, and most importantly, the heart. Each singer is unique, and Choristers conductors nurture that individuality at every level. Developing friendships and a sense of community is central to the Jubilate experience.
🥋 Jubilate Karate: A Unique Sight-Singing Program
One special feature of Jubilate is our individual sight-singing program, Jubilate Karate. Each singer receives a karate belt holder and, as the year progresses, they work through increasingly challenging rhythm and pitch-reading exercises to earn up to nine belts. The season culminates in a celebration and black belt ceremony to honor their achievements. This program helps singers internalize their knowledge through individual mastery and group collaboration.
