una voce musica

una voce musica is composed of singers in grades 7-12 who desire an advanced SATB choral experience. This choir performs at 3 formal concerts a year and is frequently requested to perform around the community.

This choir's unique blend of excellent singing, intriguing literature, and supportive and positive rehearsal environment makes it a learning experience like none other. Their name says it all: "one voice." These singers support each other and work together to acheive exceptional musicianship and connection with each other.

Touring

Singers in una voce musica are eligible to participate in a Concert Tour each summer. Choriseters Touring Choirs have performed at St. Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin, Ireland; Chartres Cathedral in Chartre, France; Sydney Opera House, Sydney, Australia; and many more historic venues.

Timothy Unger

Timothy Unger

Tim Unger is the Choral Director, Department Chair, and Director of the School of Fine Arts at Lake Ridge Academy. His choral responsibilities include running the Middle and Upper School choral programs, including curricular and extra-curricular ensembles, and acting as musical director for the stage productions put on by the Fine Arts Department. Tim has worked extensively in the Edmonton, Alberta choral community, working with several community choirs and music programs there as well as with numerous groups in Cincinnati including the Cincinnati Children’s Choir and the University of Cincinnati Choruses. He holds a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from the University of Cincinnati and a Bachelor of Music Education from Baldwin Wallace University.

Policies

Formal Uniforms:

Boys in una voce musica wear a specialized black tuxedo with a black dress shirt, black socks and plain black shoes (no colors, sequins, bows, etc). Black neck ties are provided at each concert. Girls in una voce musica wear specialized black gowns, black hose and black character shoes (1.5-2" heel).

Informal Uniforms:

Boys and Girls informal uniforms are a dark green Choristers T-Shirt, black dress pants of choice, black socks and comfortable black dress shoes of choice (no tennis shoes, must be all black).

Measuring and Ordering:

Singers are measured for uniforms in the fall. Uniform items are provided through Choristers and singer accounts are billed for purchased items. Used and new uniforms are available in most sizes.

financial aid

Oberlin Choristers is committed to providing our outstanding programming to all interested singers and work to eliminate financial barriers. Through generous donations from our individual, corporate, and foundation sponsors, we are able to provide financial aid when needed.

There are many unique situations and many ways we can help. Please contact our office to find out more about what kinds of assistance is available.

Our Financial Aid is available to any singer that applies. If your singer qualifies for free or reduced lunches at school, then they are a great candidate for our financial aid award!

Financial Aid is awarded by a confidential subcommittee of our Board of Directors. They review all applications and award the amount based on the need. Please note, the non-refundable deposit cannot be covered by Financial Aid.

Requirements to be considered:

  • Register your singer and pay the non-refundable deposit.
  • Submit our Financial Aid Request form.
  • Provide a copy of your most recent tax return, or other documentation, which proves your household’s income for the current calendar year (or previous tax year).
